With the 2022 NASCAR Cup season approaching the Playoff phase, one has to wonder who the favorites are. Ahead of this weekend’s race at Nashville, NASCAR revealed a list of drivers with the best odds of winning the title. As per the odds, Kyle Larson is one of the primary favorites, with an 11 to 2 odds.

Admittedly, a fair number of fans were baffled by this. Some pointed out his low average finishing in the current season, especially since the next driver had lower odds. That goes to teammate Chase Elliott and Joe Gibbs Racing driver Kyle Busch on 6 to 1.

Then came Ross Chastain with 7-1 odds, Denny Hamlin and William Byron on 8-1 odds. And finally, Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney have 9-1 odds.

Others noted that he only has one win so far, which, to be fair, is the same for many other drivers.

What kind of complicates matters for him is that he is expected to lose a few key members of his crew for the next month. This was because his car lost a wheel at the Sonoma Raceway, which normally results in a penalty.

What next for Kyle Larson in the 2022 NASCAR Cup season?

The general consensus was that the odds of him retaining his title make little sense. According to fans, there were many of his rivals and teammates who stood a better chance of winning. For example, Chase Elliott is currently leading the points table and could wrap up the regular-season championship.
