A few weeks ago, a fire broke out at a NASCAR team shop. Several people were injured, but there were no reported casualties. The team in question was Reaume Brothers Racing. Just weeks after the incident, fans learned about another disastrous news about RBR’s Cup Series venture.

All this started after a tweet surfaced claiming that Jacques Villeneuve and Team Hezeberg would not return to the Cup Series. Since then, fans across social media have been speculating about the end of the team’s Cup Series outfit, Team Hezeberg.

The tweet mentioned, A lot of speculation around Team Hezeberg and Jacques Villeneuve potentially entering the #Daytona500 this year, but unfortunately we won’t see Hezeberg in #NASCAR Cup again.

Team Hezeberg is a team fielded by Reaume Brothers Racing in NASCAR Cup Series. Through Hezeberg, they ran their part-time NASCAR Cup Series program. In the Cup series, the team ran a total of two vehicles. One of the was a Toyota Camry with the number 26, driven by former Formula 1 driver Daniil Kvyat. Meanwhile, the second car was a Ford Mustang GT with the number 27. This car was shared between drivers, Loris Hezemans and Jacques Villeneuve.

NASCAR fans speculate on Team Hezeberg’s future in the sport

Several people had questions regarding the future of Team Hezeberg—mostly after they learned of Reaume Brothers Racing being the parent team. Moreover, the recent fire that engulfed the parent team’s garage further led to the idea that Hezeberg might have lost their cars in that incident as well.

However, as of now, there hasn’t been any official confirmation regarding their closure. As of this year, they were going to field their car with former Canadian Formula 1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve to race at the Daytona 500. Although, as the speculations suggest, it is questionable if would they even turn up for the race.

Furthermore, fans questioned whether they were not going to race this year or if it was a permanent closure. But, unless there is a formal disclosure from the team, one would have to take all of these speculations with a pinch of salt.
