NASCAR Xfinity Series star Chase Briscoe revealed his special paint scheme for the throwback weekend at the Darlington Raceway. Briscoe’s paint scheme will honor legendary NASCAR driver and Stewart-Haas Racing’s team owner, Tony Stewart. The throwback race will take place on September 5, during the labor day weekend.
Briscoe’s No. 98 Ford Mustang will sport a black-and-white color combination during the race. It will be a change from its usual blue-and-white color scheme. The scheme is a throwback to Tony Stewart’s car during his Championship-winning 2011 season. Stewart’s car was sponsored by Mobil 1.

Chase Briscoe honors Tony Stewart’s iconic win
Briscoe’s car will sport HighPoint.com in place of Mobil 1. It seems as if the ‘o’ in ‘HighPoint’ on Briscoe’s car has been altered to resemble the ‘o’ in the ‘Mobil 1’ on Stewart’s car from back then. Stewart’s No. 14 Chevrolet was part of a historic season in 2011.

Tony Stewart won the 2011 NASCAR Cup Series Championship in dramatic style. He was tied with Carl Edwards in the final points standings with a win on the final day at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Stewart won the championship in a tie-breaker by virtue of his five race wins. It was the first-ever tie in the final points standings in NASCAR history.
The 2011 title was Stewart’s third and final title in the Cup Series. The other two titles came in 2002 and 2005.

Briscoe aims to emulate Stewart
Briscoe was just 16 years old when Stewart won the iconic 2011 championship. “I’ve always been a diehard Tony Stewart fan,” Briscoe said in a statement by the team.
“When Tony sets his sights on something, there’s nothing you can do to stop him, and that title run in 2011 was a perfect example. Now here I am running for an Xfinity Series championship, and I’m trying to do exactly what Tony did in 2011,” Briscoe added.
