The two-time champion is now staring at a 100-race winless streak, with not a single top-10 finish through the first seven races.

Sitting 24th in points, Kyle Busch hasn’t held back either. His frustration with the No. 8 team has been evident, both on the radio and in post-race comments, sparking early speculation about his long-term future. A major part of the struggle? The car itself. Busch has repeatedly dealt with handling issues with a machine that simply isn’t responding the way a driver of his caliber expects.

The problems were glaring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway during the Pennzoil 400, where his Chevrolet faded badly over a run. He went multiple laps down and limped home in 28th. Afterward, Busch didn’t hold back, bluntly calling the car “broken.” Similar issues popped up again at Martinsville, where the car lacked balance and drive, leaving Busch stuck fighting just to stay competitive rather than contend.

And here’s the bigger concern. It’s not just Kyle Busch. The struggles at RCR run deeper, with performance inconsistencies across the board, raising serious questions about whether this is a driver problem…or something much larger within the organization.

For Kyle Busch, the numbers paint a worrying picture. And the more worrisome part? They’re only getting worse. After another underwhelming run at Martinsville Speedway, the two-time champion has now stretched his winless streak to 100 races, a stark contrast to the dominance that once defined his career.

His last victory came at the 2023 Enjoy Illinois 300, but since then, momentum has completely vanished. Busch has missed the last two postseason campaigns, and 2025 marked a historic low. The Rowdy finished outside the top 20 in points for the first time in his career. Even more concerning, he managed just three top-five finishes all season, a far cry from his usual standards.

Now in 2026, things haven’t improved. Seven races in, Kyle Busch is yet to record a single top-10 finish. Another unwanted first. Despite signing a contract extension with Richard Childress Racing, the chemistry between Busch and the No. 8 crew appears off. The standings only add to the pressure. Busch currently sits 24th in points, a full eight spots below the playoff cutoff, trailing Daniel Suarez by 48 points. In a system where consistency is key, that gap is becoming harder to close with each passing week.
