Hyak Racing driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. isn’t the one who backs out of a fight. Be it on the racetrack or off it. We all know what happened at the All-Star race where Stenhouse Jr. took offense to Kyle Busch’s rowdy driving and retaliated with a clean punch. While he’s kept himself in line after that incident, the Chili Bowl Nationals has brought back the unhinged version of himself. And the driver on the opposite end of his shenanigans was the reigning champion, Logan Seavey
As if things could not go any worse from here, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has now resorted to social media banter. He took aim at former NASCAR driver Nick Hoffman, who is up against the odds to make the A-mains.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is stirring up controversies at the Chili Bowl Nationals
The Friday night qualifiers had plenty of drama, and it’s fair to say tempers were flaring high among the racers. A little bump and run and side-by-side action aren’t considered egregious at the Chili Bowl, but Stenhouse Jr. took it to the next level. Seavey made aggressive passes to take the lead during the qualifying race with 10 laps remaining. This saw the NASCAR driver being demoted to fifth place while Seavey took the checkered flag.
It all looked fine as the race came to an end, but on the cool-down laps, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. rammed his car into Logan Seavey’s racing machine. It was clear retaliation with both drivers being upside down inside their cars. Well, in a typical Stenhouse Jr. fashion, he rubbed his hands of any wrongdoings after the altercation. And going by his latest activity on social media, he is now throwing shade at Nick Hoffman.
The World of Outlaw Late Models shared an optimistic post about Hoffman’s run at the Chili Bowl despite him fighting in J-main. “.@Nick_Hoffman2’s Saturday agenda: ✅ Become the first driver to win a Driller from a J-Main.” Stenhouse Jr. took a cheeky jab at this post and wrote, “That’s going to be difficult from the Blue Duece Tavern.” Well, it will be interesting to see how Hoffman performs, and if he reaches the A-main, things could get tense between the two. Seavey is another driver he will have to look out for. As he wasn’t impressed how he was roughed up after the prelim race.
“He kind of backed me up a lot of the race, which is just part of racing. He kind of spun in front of me. I cut him a lot of breaks there, and then at the last lap, I really got a hold of the bottom down the back stretch. … I’d cut him enough breaks, I felt like, throughout that race by lifting probably every lap for him out of the cushion”. Seavey said in the aftermath of the incident.

Here’s how NASCAR drivers will line up at the Chili Bowl Nationals 2025
With five nights straight of prelim action, the Chili Bowl will now transition to its main feature starting on Saturday. The action will start using the “alphabet soup” format with P-main at 9 a.m. CT, and from there on the event will move one letter up, finally reaching B-main. Kyle Larson will be part of the pole shuffle list as he won the opening prelim race on Monday.
Meanwhile, Christopher Bell, who is in red-hot form after the Tulsa Shootout triumph, wasn’t able to get a direct entry after being outpaced by Tanner Thorson. Bell will start in the B-main feature alongside fellow NASCAR driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. J.J. Yeley will start 10th in the C-feature. Meanwhile, 2-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch will start eighth in the F-feature, and it will be an uphill climb for the debutant. Adding to this list, we have Ty Gibbs, who has a similar roadmap to Rowdy, as he will start in the G-feature. All races in the features from B right up to P will only run for 20 laps. So the margins of error for the drivers are really slim.

It will be interesting to see how many NASCAR drivers make it up to the A-main and contest for the Golden Driller. Of course, fans inside the SageNet center would be hoping for another round between Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell.
