Earlier, there were reports that the JTG Daugherty Racing team would become a single-car operation. This would mean that one of the drivers would have to be let go from the team. Now, it has officially been confirmed that Ricky Stenhouse Jr will be racing for the outfit in the #47 car. In other words, Ryan Preece and the #37 car will no longer be part of the team.
Stenhouse Jr said, “I’m definitely back at JTG Daugherty Racing in the #47 car. So I’m definitely happy about that, something that you’ve been sitting on for a while. Just trying to get everything else in place, obviously there’s a lot of moving parts that go along with race teams. Especially transitioning to a whole brand new car, trying to make sure that we have everything lined up there.”
According to Ricky Stenhouse Jr, it has been a busy period for JTG Daugherty. Now, the outfit plans to finish the year on a high and consistent note. In all honesty, the team’s consistency has been something that they can be proud of.

What next for Ricky Stenhouse Jr and JTG Daugherty Racing?
Now, JTG will want to build on that level of consistency and look to the future. According to team co-owner Brad Daugherty, they wish to become a strong one-car team. In fact, he has placed a lot of faith in the team’s overall performance. This is largely because Stenhouse has often found himself at the sharp end of the order and among the Top 20 drivers.
He even enjoys a career-best second place, which came at Bristol. This weekend’s race at the Talladega Superspeedway should be a good race for him, as he finished second last year at the venue. His maiden Cup Series win also came at the superspeedway in the 2017 season, when he had a career-best finish of 13th in the championship.
