Recently, the sport announced the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule. A month earlier, the Stock Car series unveiled the 2021 Cup Series schedule for the very first time. It is worth noting that both schedules closely mirror each other, as both feature a number of road courses.

In the coming season, the Xfinity Series will feature 32 races at the same venues as the Cup Series. The Cup Series has 33 races in 2021.

Additionally, all three classes will make their debut at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. Another change includes the return of the Nashville Superspeedway for the first time since 2011. Furthermore, the Xfinity drivers will return to Mid-Ohio for the first time in a while.

“As was the case with the Cup Series, we’re thrilled to have worked with the industry and our broadcast partners to deliver an exciting Xfinity Series schedule for our fans,” said NASCAR vice president of racing development, Ben Kennedy.

“We saw phenomenal Xfinity Series racing in 2020, and this schedule allows us to build on that momentum by adding compelling new venues to an already fantastic mix of traditional race tracks.”

What else is new about the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule?

Other changes to the NASCAR Xfinity calendar include a race in Pocono. This will form part of a NASCAR Cup Series double-header weekend in 2021.

Fortunately, the NASCAR Xfinity paddock has a two-week respite before some back-to-back road course race. The venues of those races will be at Watkins Glen and the Indianapolis Road Course.

However, things could be quite difficult after Indianapolis, as the Xfinity drivers have a busy time ahead of them. To be precise, they have to face 14 consecutive weekends of racing. This includes seven consecutive playoff races, which wrap up at the Phoenix Raceway in early November.

Meanwhile, the Bristol Motor Speedway plays host to the regular-season finale. Beyond that, the Las Vegas Motor Speedway is set to kick off the Playoffs. However, we are still in the 2020 season, and waiting for the current campaign to end and witness a new champion.
