While the NASCAR championship finale at Phoenix raceway did not see much action for almost the entire duration of the race, we did see Ryan Blaney fight hard to clench a win. However, no matter how hard he tried to do so, he was not able to catch up and make the pass of Joey Logano. During the race, there was suspicion that Blaney was asked to back off and not challenge Logano for the win.

During an interview, Team Penske owner, Rodger Penske clarified and stated, “I think I told him on the radio with about 10 to go, ‘You’re his wingman.’ I think we were fine the way we were.”

Earlier, right after the race had ended an NBC reporter asked Blaney, “Inside of his 12 car, visibly upset, after leading over a hundred laps and finishing second today Ryan. What’s the nature of your anger?”

Blaney stated, “Didn’t win obviously, dumb question. Really good Menards, Ford all day. Couldn’t get the lead on the restart, and couldn’t pass anyone.”

He was then asked if he had the car to win, to which Blaney said, “We got the car to win and couldn’t get by in dirty air.”

For a track like Phoenix where clean air is king, once Blaney was stuck behind Logano after the final restart there wasn’t anything else he could do differently to get ahead of the now two-time Cup Series Champion. The only thing remaining for Blaney to do was to hold his position and try to distance himself from a charging Ross Chastain.

NASCAR Fans react to Ryan Blaney’s Kyle Busch-type responses

Blaney’s answers to the journalist asking questions that to him made no sense whatsoever were just comedic gold. Fans loved that his responses were in a line like how Kyle Busch would have responded, just minus the swear words.

Fans stated that even though Blaney’s response mirrored Kyle Busch but he also managed not to anger anyone with his comments, unlike Busch.
