Currently, Ross Chastain is plying his trade for Trackhouse Racing and has become a fierce competitor. However, once upon a time, he used to race for Spire Motorsports in the Cup Series. During that tenure, he competed in five Cup races for the organization, and his best was a P16 finish.

Now, the organization’s Truck Series division has gone from strength to strength in 2024. As it happens, Kyle Busch and Rajah Caruth guided their respective trucks to victory in Atlanta and Las Vegas. Spire Motorsports has enjoyed an acquisition of Kyle Busch Motorsports in 2024, and it has paid off.

He told Frontstretch, “It’s not the same programme. Not any of the same mechanics and people that are actually working on the cars. We were a spin-off of Premium Motorsports and Jay Robinson, and that was the role Spire needed to take at the time. That’s what they needed to do, and now being able to acquire KBM and make it into what Spire Motorsports is, absolutely incredible to watch.”

“I’m so happy for Jeff and TJ. Hugging TJ in Victory Lane last night, they changed my life. From the sport’s agency side of years gone by. If they were a sports agency or driver agency, they got me my opportunity. All the work that I put in with my group and family before that. They were the catalyst to put me with the team that I was able to come here and win Las Vegas in the Xfinity Series. So I’m a fan of theirs, and they’re a fan of mine, and we’ll be family forever.”

Ross Chastain has a point because Spire Motorsports has come a long way since its debut in NASCAR. In the Cup Series, the results have been less than spectacular, with only one win courtesy of Justin Haley in 2019. Meanwhile, in the Truck Arena, William Byron was the first winner in 2022, followed by Kyle Larson a year later. Now, in 2024, the streak has continued thanks to Kyle Busch and Rajah Caruth. What would really make the organization’s year would be if Chase Purdy in the third truck also got a win.

For a long time, Ross Chastain has been considered a championship contender. Unfortunately, the 2023 season was a bit forgettable, as he only managed two wins. His second win came in the season finale, but he had already been out of title contention by then. That win, though, could have been his chance to keep up the momentum for the current season. At Daytona, he could only muster 21st on the track but finished 7th at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Fortunately for him, the season is long, and there is time to redeem himself. However, Ross Chastain cannot afford to dilly-dally, or he will miss out on a chance to make the playoffs. NASCAR has often proven to be unpredictable, and there are instances of strong drivers missing out on the playoffs.
