Ryan Blaney‘s zeal for stock car racing has become synonymous with dominance and resilience. His 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Championship win has served as a testament to it. Clearly, Team Penske’s force behind the wheel has a love for motorsports that knows no bounds. Similarly, his penchant for drinking is on another level as well. 

During a recent Bussin’ With The Boys episode, the #12 Team Penske driver opened up about his love for drinking. But the story didn’t end there as the revelation ran deep within the pit crew of his team, unveiling the lesser-known facts.

Ryan Blaney gets candid about his love for drinking

During the episode, Blaney, along with ex-NFL players Will Compton and Taylor Lewan, were talking when the conversation went slightly off-track, and they started talking about golf instead of NASCAR. Following this, Lewan asked Blaney, “Golf is a lot of drinking. Do you get some drinking in while you’re in race season?”

The 29-year-old driver did not see that question coming and went into a confused state and asked, “While I’m racing!?” to which Lewan clarified, “Not in the race season. In the one day, you have off.” 

Blaney was quick to emphasize that drinking on his day off is an absolute thing, and also disclosed drinking during the season and replied, “Oh yeah! If I had to go eight months during the season without drinking, don’t know what I’d do.”

So Ryan Blaney expressed his love for drinking, be it on his day off or anytime during the season. But he didn’t stop there. When Will Compton asked about the Team Penske crew’s drinking habits, Blaney started spilling the beans.

Blaney comes clean about his pit crew’s drinking habits

Blaney’s pit crew, or as they say, Penske Team 12’s, are no average human beings. They are ex-athletes, be they from the NFL, Baseball, or any other sport for that matter.

After witnessing Ryan’s love for drinking, Compton asked about his team and questioned, “Does your team get after, like are you guys, is the camaraderie high?”

This time, the question didn’t come as a shocker for Blaney, and he disclosed the intensity with which his boys drink, saying, “My 12 guys are just a burn it down. They just got out here today, and I think they’re still out on there, on Broadway, right now, just let it rip. They’re going to be on the parade float, and I don’t even know what state they’re going to be.”
