Even though Ryan Preece may have done to Kyle Larson at Bristol what many people consider right and justified, Larson fans, of course, didn’t think so. The Stewart Haas Racing driver and the #5 had a bit of a thing going on during last week’s dirt race, from which the latter came out worse.

So considering what happened last week and the current state of things, the fans of the 2021 Cup champ weren’t really happy with Preece’s achievement.

Ryan Preece claims “I’m capable” of competing to win after his first pole

Preece spoke after grabbing the first Cup pole of his career. He opened up on his mentality, where he sees himself, and how he feels about not starting in the back.

“As a race car driver you want to come here, you want to compete, you want to win races and I know my team is capable of that. I know I’m capable of that,” Preece said as per Motorsport. “It’s really just been trying to put it all together and get the finishes that you feel you deserve.

“It’s nice to not be starting in the back for one week. We have such a fast (car) and I’m really looking forward to tomorrow.”
