The NASCAR season is grueling, exhausting, and tough. It takes close to 38 weeks of the year away from all participants. With not enough time available to spend with their families, drivers tend to use the off-season for that. And this driver found the perfect time to build his family in the off-season.

Erik Jones is a young driver, who races for Petty GMS. The 26-year-old has been around the NASCAR circuit for a while now, having started racing with the Truck Series in 2013. In 2014, he found an upgrade, being invited to race in the Xfinity Series for Joe Gibbs Racing.

JGR saw potential in him. The driver had the chance to race for the team for 3 full seasons in the Cup Series, and for 4 years (although intermittently) in the Xfinity Series. However, too much didn’t go Jones’ way. His stint with the team wasn’t very successful, managing to get only a handful of good results. With age on his side, not a lot has been lost.

But on the personal end, Jones has found more things to be happy about. He proposed to his long-time partner, Holly Shelton, on Christmas Eve – guess what the answer was? “MARRY Christmas!! 😊 You already know I said HELL YEAH!!”

What a great bit of news! Two young souls finally tying the knot! Best wishes to the couple.

All of NASCAR was ecstatic to hear

Holly and Erik put up a post with pictures of themselves on Instagram.

A number of people congratulated the couple for making that leap. Their post had likes from people from the NASCAR fraternity, such as Dale Earnhardt Jr, Chase Elliott, Luke Lambert, Anthony Alfredo, Bob Dillner, and Alex Weaver.

NASCAR, as a community, came out and congratulated them on this joyous occasion. Petty GMS, Jones’ current team in NASCAR, said “Congrats you two! 💙💙” while “The King” Richard Petty commented with a simple, “Congratulations!”

Noah Gragson, a teammate of Jones at Petty GMS, also congratulated his mate on Instagram: “Congrats”.

Other figures of NASCAR also tweeted to celebrate the event.

It’s a great way for Jones to end his year. Hopefully, the start of his 2023 will be as great as the end of 2022.
