Recently, the ‘IcyVert’ social media handle crossed 28,000 followers but in reference to the occasion, it sent out a controversial tweet. “28 thousand friends? no, 28 thousand followers. screw all you guys,” the tweet read. This came completely out of the blue and drew the ire of some fans while others saw it as sarcasm.

Despite gaining a lot of popularity for the Cars x NASCAR edit, not a lot of people were fans of the person behind the social media account. This is because IcyVert is not a pure NASCAR account. Avid fans of the sport were upset since they had given a lot of time and effort to promote the sport but never got that kind of recognition.

On the surface, they all seem like sarcastic comments under a sarcastic tweet but with some fans, you never know.

One user believes that IcyVert’s claim to fame was all planned out by NASCAR and recommended that the stock car racing company get someone different to promote their sport. “That’s it I’m telling NASCAR to replace you with a different industry plant,” they commented.

And of course, there was the obvious sarcasm from some users and they were hilarious. “Dang… I thought what we had was special,” one user commented. Another one asked an important question, “If I’m not following you does that automatically make us friends?”
