While most senior drivers seemed overwhelmed by the road course and the whole layout, it was the younger drivers like Tyler Reddick who rose to the occasion. In the recent Dirty Mo Media podcast, Dale Earnhardt Jr shared his take on the race and revealed his initial reactions.

Speaking to his long-time friend and co-host Mike Davis, the Hall of Famer talked at length on the multiple overtimes in the race and reflected on Denny Hamlin‘s #11 Toyota spinning out of control.

Regarding the flags, Dale Jr said, “So my first reaction was what the hell NASCAR, why is there yellow? Had a damn good race going, you screwed the flow up.”

He further went on to elaborate his take on turn 8 as drivers were having a tough time with dirt there and Hamlin was unable to stop his Toyota from spinning out. He questioned NASCAR, saying, “My next reaction was well, how many drivers were complaining about that, I’m sure Denny was after he spun out in it.

“And if 2, 3, 4 guys complain, if they are hearing the chatter over the radio—and NASCAR monitors all of this—if they have anybody complaining about any kind of treachery on the race track: debris, dirt, they have to react, they can’t ignore, right?”

Even the commentary team felt the frustration, with someone mentioning, “The whole place was turning into soup over there.”
