A little more than a week ago, Kyle Busch had some explosive things to say about drivers with regard to an often overlooked but nevertheless, very important aspect of racecar driving. He talked about mutual respect, or rather, the lack of it.

Busch claimed that these days there’s no respect between drivers on the track, an example of which was on display during the race at The Circuit of The Americas.

It seems that the two-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion was right about drivers not having enough consideration for their competitors. And it was Ryan Preece of Stewart Haas Racing who called it out pretty bluntly.

Ryan Preece calls out “hacks” after the unfortunate end to his race in COTA

Ryan Preece was taken out in a wreck during a restart when he got loose running alongside Michael McDowell and Alex Bowman. Within moments, the #41 driver made contact with rookie Ty Gibbs, spun out, and hit the side of Ricky Stenhouse Jr, which meant his race was effectively over.

He took to social media to call out the drivers who ended his race as he tweeted, “What a bunch of Hacks.” But he wasn’t done there.

Along with that, in a post-race interview, the driver expressed his anger as he echoed the words of Kyle Busch from a week ago.

“I got wrecked by a bunch of hacks,” Preece said. “You want to know what this is? This comes down to a lack of respect.” He called out the drivers who “just pay their way,” and don’t respect cars.

They just run into everyone,” he claimed. “Somebody needs an a** kicking.”

Kyle Busch on the potential solution to the respect problem

After he expressed his opinion on the lack of respect and the loss of racing etiquette between drivers, Kyle Busch was asked what could be the solution to this problem, to which he suggested, “Solution starts with repercussions.”

“There isn’t any so why listen, why show any respect, and why do anything that you should do, um you know etiquette-wise if there’s no repercussions.”

With that said, do you think NASCAR will step in and take some strict actions against such incidents as Preece’s, or is the lack of respect the new norm?
