During the Federated Auto Parts 400 at the Richmond Raceway, Clint Bowyer finished the race in 10th place. However, he was unhappy with the fact that there were too few cautions at the track.

Speaking to FOX SPORTS, Bowyer said, “My opinion is the tire. I think something’s not meshing with the track. You look out there on the race track and all night long, you just had a lot of racing on this weekend.”

The 41-year old compared the race to being out on a highway. He was upset that none of the cars were able to put some rubber on the track. Suffice to say, Clint Bowyer was quite miffed at the track authorities.

What else did Clint Bowyer say?

He fumed, “That’s unacceptable, as far as I’m concerned, I’m a fan of this sport. We’re gonna have fans come back here one of these days, we got to put a better show than that. Can’t have them run lap after lap after lap with no cautions, something’s gotta change.”

Bowyer’s statements hold some truth to it because at least three races witnessed the entire final stage stay green. As it turned out, only three cautions were seen during Saturday night’s Cup race. At least two of them took place at the end of a race stage. The third one was a routine NASCAR competition caution that flew early in the race.

Bowyer found a supporter in Martin Truex Jr., who won in Richmond last season. The #19 driver finished second, but he was miles behind race winner Brad Keselowski. According to Truex Jr, the change in tire hindered his team’s ability to perform better.

It didn’t lay really any rubber down on the race track like we’ve seen here in the past, and I think that changed things up quite a bit, especially for us, obviously,” Truex said.
