NASCAR fans were treated to a classic Android vs iPhone battle recently. But it was not a traditional debate, thanks to Corey LaJoie‘s recent Twitter post.

The post was a humorous video that showed a screenshot of a text conversation between Corey LaJoie and Chase Elliott. But before that, we see LaJoie being asked “Hey Corey! Chase ain’t here today, you can win it!” to which he replied, ” I was texting him yesterday, that’s what I told him.”

In the text conversation, LaJoie asked Elliott if he was racing that weekend, to which Elliott replied with a simple “no.” However, what caught everyone’s attention was the fact that Elliott didn’t seem to have iMessage. Fans came to this conclusion as the text bubble in LaJoie’s video was green, when it is supposed to be blue, in iPhone’s case.

This sparked a debate among fans, with some throwing shade at Elliott for using an Android phone. However, Elliott was quick to respond to a fan on Twitter and redeems himself by taking a dab back at LaJoie.

He wrote, “Yeah @CoreyLaJoie did me dirty with that one… sorry but team I’m iPhone here pal.”

The banter between LaJoie and Elliott did seem like a callback to a mild controversy that happened last year during the Atlanta Race.

Why did Corey LaJoie decide to mess with Chase Elliott in the first place?

During the Atlanta race last year, Elliott took the lead by allegedly throwing a block on LaJoie, which resulted in the Spire Motorsports driver hitting the outside wall before he spun down to the inside. The move resulted in Elliott winning the race, but it didn’t sit well with many fans.

After the race, Elliott’s commented, “We all know what to do either go for the win or don’t. I’m going to choose option A every day of the week.” This further divided the fans on social media.

It’s obvious that LaJoie still remembers what happened. His strong and amusing reaction to the issue has caught people’s eye and made things a bit funny. Even though Elliott came in the first place, there’s still a bit of a fuss about it that hasn’t completely gone away. And now it seems like even Elliott is also in on the rivalry-turned-good humor and dabs back at LaJoie in good spirits.
