Trackhouse Racing’s Daniel Suarez is living his dream moment after the historic win at Atlanta Motor Speedway last weekend. One of the perks of being signed to Trackhouse Racing is that you get to celebrate your wins with the pop sensation Pitbull. The co-owner of the team recently invited the driver to his concert in Nashville, and let’s just say, Suarez was not prepared for the events that played out during the show.

The 32-year-old, ahead of the Vegas race, revealed how he was invited by Pitbull on the stage, where he nearly got drunk with just one tequila shot. Suarez often tried to distance himself from the consumption of alcohol. But given the value of the important Cup Series win, Suarez was obliged to accept his co-owner’s offer for a drink.

Talking about his time at the concert and how it was planned out, Suarez said in an interview, “I wasn’t thinking much about it when they told me I was going to do that and then I had a little talk with people before he performed. He said, I’m going to bring you there and then you can talk and we can have a shot together of my tequila or whatever that was. Actually, I don’t drink that is why I got drunk with one shot, it was very improvised but it was amazing.”

What surprised the driver was the immense support he received from the fans at the concert. He added, “I don’t know if it’s normally Nashville like this because people were there or maybe I got lucky. But there were a lot of Mexican flags with the fans and people were getting crazy… It was a great time, great experience. Pitbull is such a rockstar, that guy is unbelievable, the way he performed, and the way that he drives people is unbelievable.”

Success comes at a price, they say, and for Saurez to clinch this win, he had to part ways with his old pal and crew chief, Travis Mack.

A new crew chief was the only solution for Daniel Suarez’s 2023 woes

The driver and team are only as good as their performances on the racetrack. Unfortunately, the duo of Daniel Suarez and Travis Mack could not get their act together. Finishing the season #19 without any wins, the driver was under immense pressure and Mack had no idea how to get out of this pickle. Thus, the team made a tough call to replace the crew chief and brought in Matt Swiderski from Kaulig Racing.

Suarez featured on the DJD podcast show, and he explained the pressure situation ahead of the 2024 season. “The reality is that last year we just did not perform the way we wanted to perform. I’m not blaming him (Travis Mack), But we didn’t have a solution, we didn’t have a plan, we didn’t know how we’re going to fix it. I started getting pressure, everyone started getting pressure, the sponsor was putting pressure, and it was going on, why you guys are not winning? Like the #1 is going…It really put us in a corner where we needed to do something.

While Daniel Suarez has released a huge weight off his shoulders with the iconic, his real test will now be to stay consistent and produce positive results for the entirety of the 2024 campaign.
