Daytona always being the track with chaotic endings and living up to the expectations brings dramatic events. The Coke Zero Sugar 400 race which took place at Daytona International Speedway last weekend is a prime example. The certainty of who will win the race or finish in the top 10 or even complete the race is a wild guess.

To this winning of a lifetime, the NASCAR Cup Series driver David Ragan had a few thoughts to share.

David Ragan’s reaction to the once in a lifetime winning

In a conversation with Action Network, David Ragan candidly talked about the moment he got to know about the bet. And how he could have lost it all for the bettor but didn’t. On the contrary, made the bettor’s day by finishing in the top ten.

David Ragan said, “I saw the parlay when I got on the plane after the race. Some friends had sent it to me and I said right away, ‘That has to be fake.’ But then he pointed out that the sportsbook itself was tweeting it out. Just wild. That guy had to be having a heart attack.”

“The crazy thing here is I’m the wildcard on his bet. Imagine just sitting there with your million dollars on the line!” David added, amusingly.

The #15 driver for Rick Ware Racing was quite ecstatic about the fact that a guy sitting at home won a million.

To which he said, “It’s unbelievable this all happened and it’s amazing that a guy sitting at home made a million dollars. Austin, who won the race, didn’t make a million. And I certainly didn’t. I’m not sure exactly, but I’ll wind up with around 40 to 50 percent of the total prize for my finish, which should be around $100,000.”
