It’s almost impossible to imagine a race that was not followed by a NASCAR bashing session by either fans or drivers. May it be an on-track inconvenience, a scuffle among drivers, or the announcement of a penalty – the governing body always finds itself to be a target of accusations and ridicule. However, former Cup driver and JR Motorsports owner Dale Earnhardt Jr wants to know if these constant criticisms are fair.
Over the years, the sports authorities have untiringly worked towards improving the race experiences for fans. However, despite everything, several technical and non-technical issues find a way to creep in during most of the races.

Dale Earnhardt Jr reveals he is ‘exhausted with the feeling’
During the latest episode of ‘Dale Jr. Download’ Podcast, Earnhardt Jr revealed that he was exhausted by this constant feeling that the sport needs fixing. Explaining how the narrative that NASCAR has to be ‘fixed’ has become unnecessarily prevalent among drivers and fans, Earnhardt Jr said, “Here’s the thing. And I know you’ve got a lot of things to say but I’m getting really really exhausted with the feeling that every week we got to fix something.”
He added, “And I feel like every single week we watch a race and we come out of that race instead of going ‘Man! That was awesome,’ ‘An incredible race,’ ‘Oh the track delivers,’ ‘Man that was a hell of a battle.’ Instead, we come out there and go ‘Man! That sucked.”
“We need to fix this,’ ‘Man! That sucked we don’t need this anymore,’ ‘Man! Why do we do this, this way?”

Earnhardt Jr admits to being guilty of doing the same
Honest about his own shortcomings, Dale Earnhardt Jr admitted that he too is guilty of constantly criticizing the races and the governing body. Explaining what exactly he feels bad about, Jr said, “And I’m doing it, I’m doing it too, right? I’m guilty of sitting there going ‘God darn! It was awesome but…I didn’t like this part.”
He also explained his views on why it has become a common phenomenon in the NASCAR world. He added, “And I don’t know whether that’s because there’s truly some problems that need fixing or if that’s just the new norm in terms of how we react or how I react. I won’t even put this on nobody else. I’m trying to ask myself like ‘Damn dude. Do you need to complain every freaking week about something? Can you not just back off a little bit and look at it for what it is?”
