The NASCAR Hall of Famer discussed a number of topics involving his career, team ownership, and other random things. Yet when asked about his best investment, his answer was so prompt and heart-warming. He said, “The best thing I ever did was marry my wife Leah, well yeah, and that’s a no-brainer, yes, obviously.”

Well, isn’t it a lovely gesture? Where has this lovey-dovey Stewart been? Having said that, there is no hiding the love he has for Leah. In fact, it has been so strong that Smoke had to clear up a myth surrounding him and his wife.

Stewart clarifies the real reason behind him trying his luck with NHRA

More often than not with motorsport fans, it is assumed that drivers are greatly influenced by their girlfriends/wives. A similar scenario was witnessed with Leah Pruett when Stewart decided to join NHRA. The assumption was more triggered by the fact that Pruett herself is an NHRA Top Fuel dragster. However, the Stewart-Haas Racing co-owner was quick to come out in his wife’s defense.

In an interview with the Skinny Racing podcast last year, Stewart cleared the myth. He said, “Everybody thinks Leah pushed me into doing this or asked me to do this. Leah was the last person to get on board with this. I made the decision after going to the races with her.

“I had so much fun with everything that we’ve done with NASCAR, everything we’ve done with open-wheel racing. This just was a spark that I needed.” Ideally, there shouldn’t be a need to clarify such things. After all, it’s an individual’s choice but some things just cannot be controlled. Furthermore, it only goes to show how protective Stewart is of Pruett.
