One of the most anticipated storylines in the coming 2023 NASCAR Cup season, for better or worse, is the new chapter in the career of Kyle Busch. Now, there are some who are expecting him to set the field on fire with his ‘pure talent’ and will to win. But there are those who are betting on him to fail in the #8 Chevy Camaro. Regardless of what happens ahead, right now, Busch has his new team and his new boss impressed with what he’s shown them so far.

Rowdy has the entire Richard Childress Racing team feeling his talent

Speaking about his new racecar driver, Richard Childress revealed how Kyle Busch’s arrival and his performances so far have the entire organization feeling pumped up.

“Everyone’s excited about him, I know he’s excited, our tests have been good. They went to COTA and won a little sports car race down there. To have him go out and win a race right off with Austin (Dillon) and Sheldon (Creed), it was a pretty neat deal,” Childress said.

He revealed that he too was “down there” to witness the way Busch approaches his craft, something that left him convinced about his decision to sign him.

“He’s a racer. He wants to win and that’s what I love about him,” the boss emphasized.

Kyle Busch had recently seconded what Childress revealed

If there’s one thing that is both admirable and divisive about Kyle Busch apart from the obvious, it’s his conviction in himself. This belief in his abilities behind the wheel of a racecar was something he once again described in a recent interview with NASCAR on NBC Sports.

Speaking about his upcoming, much-anticipated turn of career at RCR, Busch insisted that he is going to not waste any time in establishing his speed, and his intent with his new team.

“I expect to come right out of the gate and get going and be fast right away,” Busch said. “I hope that comes to fruition and starts at the Clash.”

Echoing the sentiment of his new boss, Busch added that there’s “a really good sense of a baseline” in his new team to achieve great speed and be competitive right off the bat. “I don’t think it will take much time,” he emphasized, “Fast cars cure all.”
