Kyle Busch’s winless streak has now extended to 26 races. He was involved in a huge wreck with only eight laps in the regular-season finale at Daytona. Busch was leading the pack when the lap began. Going into Turns 3 and 4, Tyler Reddick, who was behind Kyle Busch in second, made an attempt to take the lead. This move was catastrophic for Reddick, who then immediately made contact with Busch.

That caused a huge accident. There were many drivers who were affected by this accident. It included Erik Jones, Kurt Busch, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Ryan Newman, Austin Dillon, Michael McDowell, and Ryan Preece.

Kyle was leading before this accident and was on his way to snap his 25 race winless streak. However, luck was not on his side.

“Slide job gone bad,” Kyle Busch told NBC.

“I saw him coming and even checked up and we still ran into each other.”

Ryan Newman, who was eliminated due to the wreck was quite unhappy with the move of Reddick. “(Reddick) obviously just ran out of talent,” Newman told NBC.

“It seems like you can win a couple of Xfinity championships and still stick your head where the sun don’t shine when the time comes right. I’m just disappointed. It was kind of an average race sitting there waiting with our Guaranteed Rate Ford and never got a chance to show how good a car we had.”

Byron won his first race in the Cup Series on Saturday. It came when the group required it most. With only one race left in the regular season, Byron was in the sixteenth spot as the last driver to make it into the playoffs. Prior to the race, Byron was only four points ahead of 7 times Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson on the cutoff. He had slipped to four points below Johnson by the beginning of the last stage.

NBC Reports, “I had confidence in (crew chief) Chad (Knaus) and the guys that we could get four tires and make the most of it. So, I’m just extremely blessed, and this is incredible. It’s been a hard couple of years in the Cup Series and trying to get my first win and gel with this team. These guys did an awesome job today and got us in the Playoffs and it’s amazing.”
