A storm by the name of Ford Fusion is brewing in the NASCAR world. Having a price tag of a whopping $26,500, the “on-sale” revelation of the car is doing rounds in the community. However, what’s surprising is that the American beauty in question is no ordinary automobile.

By the looks of the Ford Fusion, its sleek design, powerful stance, and a sponsor’s paint scheme, at a price tag that won’t break the bank have left the fans divided with multiple clarifications sought. But what’s so special about this particular Ford that has caught everyone’s attention? It is its connection to NASCAR.

Having a blue-yellow paint scheme with primary sponsor, Irwin Industrial Tools’ name evident on the hood and sides, the #26 car seems no less than a NASCAR Cup Series-level configured masterpiece. The car’s owner has put it up for sale on Facebook Marketplace with the description, “2006 Ford Fusion NASCAR race car! Runs and drives as it should. Any legit interest please inbox me.”

The car up for sale has two stickers to look out for, the NASCAR Race Car and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, next to the right window frame. However, the thing to ponder upon is that the Sprint Cup started in 2008 and not 2006, so this could mean that the car might’ve been repainted over as the Ford Fusion’s bodies were used in Gen 4 cars from 2006-2007 and then in Gen 5 cars.

Now that it’s confirmed to be a NASCAR racecar, the immediate question that pops up is, whose car was it? Well, the name to be put forth would be none other than Roush Fenway Racing. The #26 Fusion’s front bumper speaks out its owner’s name, which one couldn’t afford to miss.

Being a NASCAR racecar at a price tag of $26,500 is probably the best bargain one could ask for. However, the fans seem to have some doubts about whether it’s been used for racing or not, following which a wave of concern is flowing.

The details of the car prove it to be a NASCAR racecar. But the thing concerning the fans seems to be more complex than the car’s reality. The fans aren’t settling on the fact that it has been actually used in the race and not just as a show car.

The revelation on Reddit took little to no time for the fans to respond. One fan voiced his concern and wrote, “Wondering if it’s a show car, where they had an old 06 car, but just put a Sprint Cup Series sticker on it.”

Another fan expressed his disbelief of the #26 car being an actual race car and commented, “Probably a show car for the 2008-2009 season and they put those years scheme/decals on it. Kind of like how teams use Gen6 cars with NextGen paint schemes for showcars.”

While this fan took a jibe at the seller for charging exorbitantly for a two-decade-old car and wrote, “26k for a nearly 20 year old Ford Fusion? The world has gone mad /s”
