“They Could Have Done Something…” – Brett Griffin Slams NASCAR for Not Doing Enough in Havoc Induced by Rain at Daytona

NASCAR spotter and one of the members of Door Bumper Clear podcast Brett Griffin slams NASCAR for not doing enough during the havoc caused by rain for the third year in a row at Daytona International Speedway last week.

During the latest episode of the podcast, Griffin states, “So they could have done something, here’s another idea, they could have had someone at the damn apple bee’s across the road call them and say hey it’s raining here over here at apple bee’s it’s probably coming.”

“They could have had a weatherman, a weather person, a meteorologist, a weatherwoman sitting in the booth with them in the middle of all this Florida weather they could have advised them, they could have literally taken the liability off their shoulders.”

“Meteorologist Freddie Kraft has advised us that rain is too close in the area and as a result, we’re gonna suspend the race right now to wait and see what happens with these pop-up showers.”

He concluded by saying, “Could they have done that? Three years in a row, the leader has wrecked at a race track while leading, due to rain. Texas 2020, New Hampshire 2021, Daytona 2022. Do we see a trend here?”

Denny Hamlin blamed NASCAR for the massive multi-car wreck at Daytona

After the massive pile-up that saw multiple cars wrecked during the race at Daytona last week, Denny Hamlin of Joe Gibbs Racing decided to speak out against NASCAR for not waving the caution flag on time.

NASCAR had not waived a caution despite rain beginning to emerge, which lead to the front runners crashing out one by one.

Soon a chain reaction followed which saw multiple drivers, such as Kevin Harvick, Tyler Reddick, Chase Elliott, Aric Almirola, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Harrison Burton, Bubba Wallace, Noah Gragson, and many others being involved in one giant mess of a wreck.

Somehow, out of sheer luck in the midst of all this, Austin Dillon emerged out of the wreck without being involved and went on to win the race.

However, soon after, the race was suspended citing the incoming rain. Denny Hamlin did not seem to appreciate the way NASCAR chose to handle the race and went on to state, “I ran into the rain in the middle of Turn 1 and just lost it.”

He then went on a tirade to blame the officials for not waving the caution flag sooner.
