Joey Logano’s win at Kansas last Sunday was at the center of a big debate, much like many moments over the course of Logano’s career.
Many fans and critics on social media slammed his blocking techniques to bag the win over Kevin Harvick. That isn’t new with Joey Logano, and neither were his views on the way he drives.
“No,” was Logano’s reply when asked by former driver Kyle Petty, whether he gives importance to those views. “No disrespect to those people who are saying things, but they don’t know me,” Logano expressed.

Logano thrived under pressure at Kansas and that pressure is something he cherishes. “I say it all the time. The pressure is a privilege,” Logano said.
Why Joey Logano does not care about opinions
He reiterated that Joey Logano – the driver, is very different from Joey Logano – the person. Logano stressed that he does not go on the racetrack to make friends.
The topic had come up earlier during the playoffs when his long-time rival Kyle Busch called him “nobody’s friend for a reason”.
“Once Joey Logano puts the helmet on, I’m pretty aggressive. I’m out there for one reason, that’s to win. It’s not to make friends,” Logano said further.
For the Team Penske driver, winning is paramount, whatever the cost. He believes he is answerable only to the people who work with him.
“It’s about getting the trophy at all costs. That’s my job. That’s what Roger Penske pays me to do. That’s what Ford wants. I owe that to hundreds of people that are trying to put food on the plates for their kids,” Logano highlighted.

“If you don’t like that, I don’t care,” said the 30-year-old.
He then went on to say that he is very different as a person, off the racetrack. He even admitted that there is no way his demeanor on and off the track would be the same. If it did, he would be “a jerk” in his personal life, Logano believes.
Logano is the only driver yet to book his place in the championship race. With the confidence he is exuding, Logano will aim to use the ‘privilege of pressure’ to earn yet another NASCAR Cup Series title, come November 8th, at the Phoenix Raceway.
