THROWBACK: When Tony Stewart and Brad Keselowski Tried to Wreck Each Other After the Race

In NASCAR, there are times when emotions run high and drivers get involved with each other. More often than the sport likes to admit, the racers have brawled inside and outside their cars. This brings us to one particular incident at the 2014 Bank of America 500 at the Charlotte Roval. Over here, there was a chaotic incident involving several drivers, including Brad Keselowski and Tony Stewart.

The whole thing got triggered when Denny Hamlin appeared to brake-check Keselowski. This was mostly because he was furious with the Michigan native’s overly aggressive tactics. In retaliation, the Penske driver tried to punt him into a spin but failed the attempt. Later on he came across Matt Kenseth, another driver who annoyed him during the race, and took out his anger on him. This occurred after the race on the cool down lap when the #2 driver bumped Kenseth.

What happened between Brad Keselowski and Tony Stewart?

Unfortunately, it appeared that Keselowski was not paying attention in front of him. This is because he accidentally bumped into Tony Stewart in the #14 car. From there, it appeared that a few drivers wanted some petty revenge on Keselowski. This is because they sort of boxed him in while he realized that he just angered the beast and tried to reverse out.

Stewart got his revenge when he backed up and literally went bumper-to-nose with the Penske, damaging it. Brad Keselowski eventually trundled back to the garage to cut his losses. However, the drama wasn’t over yet for Keselowski. This was because a certain Denny Hamlin followed him to the garage. Luckily, crew members were alert enough to restrain Hamlin from punching Keselowski’s lights out.

Unfortunately, nobody got the memo when an equally incensed Matt Kenseth stormed over and attacked. Later on, Keselowski and Stewart copped fines for creating “an unsafe environment following the race”. Clint Bowyer surmised that everyone was trying to avoid elimination. Keselowski and Kenseth were on the bubble and there was one race remaining. So it likely explained why the Penske racer drove like a mad man.
