In 1977, Janet Guthrie was the first woman to qualify and compete in both the Indianapolis 500 and the Daytona 500. Then during the 2013 Daytona 500, Danica Patrick became the first woman to win pole position in the NASCAR Cup Series and there has been no looking back.

Another young racer making strides in the sport is NASCAR Craftsman Truck driver Toni Breidinger. However, this time not just on the racing track. The No. 1 Toyota driver has landed a lucrative sponsorship with a billion-dollar company.

Female NASCAR Racer Tony Breidinger Lands Sponsorship with Tyre Giants

Breidinger took to social media to announce her partnership with Pirelli, showcasing her glam look for the occasion.

In the post, she is sitting in a car with the company’s newly launched P Zero AS Plus 3 tires, and has included ‘Pirelli Partner’ in her caption. Pirelli prides itself on being the 6th largest tire manufacturer in the world. It is also the exclusive tire supplier for Formula 1. The $14.9 billion company is now associating with NASCAR through Breidinger.

Pirelli has been involved with sporting partnerships since 1907. Previous tie-ups include Football Club Inter Milan, Loss Angeles Dodgers, as well as world Ski and Hockey championships. This further sheds light on the scale of Breidinger’s achievement and the stature she now commands as a global athlete.

This endeavor holds immense significance for women in this sport, particularly those in the nascent stage of their careers. Sponsorships are an inescapable part of any athlete’s life, and NASCAR is no different. But female athletes have to cross far bigger hurdles to attract sponsors. In these circumstances, Breidinger’s accomplishments become even more meaningful.
