Stewart-Haas Racing is on a mission. Reignite the spark, rejuvenate their identity, and be relentless in their approach for the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series. For a team that could not make the playoffs in 2023, the message sent out by co-owner Tony Stewart is somewhat optimistic or far-fetched. But this is not going to sway SHR from what they are preparing for the upcoming season and this was evident from their latest video release.

The SHR fans were given a hint about this show of confidence by the team through a post on X. This was followed by Stewart’s message to be ‘Real and Raw’. They did mean business when they said that we’ll be reminding their fans of their racing DNA. Now adding to their strong message and intent for the upcoming Cup Series season, Tony Stewart has sent out a message to the entire team to be relentless in their pursuit and wanting more.

Stewart-Haas Racing is in a major transition period. With inconsistent results and over-reliance on a veteran driver, SHR needed a major overhaul and a fresh approach. With Kevin Harvick’s time at the team done, it will be young guns like Chase Briscoe, Ryan Preece, and Noah Gragson who will take up the mantle to strive for that relentless pursuit. While there has been a section of NASCAR fans calling out the approach by Stewart’s team, the latter isn’t paying attention to the naysayers.

Leading the charge for his team once again, Tony Stewart sent out a stern message to chase the ultimate perfection in achieving their goals. Speaking on a short video via SHR’s YouTube channel, he said, “Being relentless to me means, you’re always striving to be better. You’re always wanting more, even when you win. There’s times when you come back to the shop and we’re like we could’ve done this better.

“People go but you just won. Yeah, but we could have been better. I think that’s what relentless is about. You are just never satisfied with what you’ve done. You never lose sight of what the goal is and the passion behind it. You are just constantly striving forward and pushing harder.”

In a conversation with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, the crew chief of SHR, Drew Blickensderfer echoed his voice of getting a car that is championship-worthy. However, with the departure of Harvick from the team, Blickensderfer feels that the young guns will shine.

He said, “We didn’t have race cars last year that Kevin Harvick could win in and that, as a company, we need to fix. Getting our race cars faster will not only help these young guys but help the whole company. Speaking on a similar line about being relentless and confident, he went on to add, “Chase Briscoe, Ryan Preece, and Josh Berry are great race car drivers that can pick and win races. As a company, we have to perform better and that goes for all the Fords.
