Tony Stewart’s wife applauds Pastrana for knocking this item off his bucket list

NASCAR fans know how difficult it is to even qualify for the Daytona 500—let alone the prospect of winning it. Pastrana’s resolve to attempt it was itself a commendable thing. The Maryland-born driver had to make it count in the qualifying races to make it on Sunday. Pastrana didn’t disappoint one bit as he came out with flying colors and qualified for the race.

In addition to Travis Pastrana, former Hendrick Motorsports driver Jimmie Johnson also made it to the race. The NASCAR Cup Series legend is marking his return to the campaign. Interestingly, both these drivers qualified by being the two of the quickest open cars.

Defending NASCAR Cup Series champion Joey Logano makes it to row two. Last year’s Daytona 500 winner Austin Cindric will start seventh on Sunday, and Stewart-Haas Racing driver Kevin Harvick will start 13 as he prepares to participate in his final Daytona appearance.
