But who can forget the 2021 altercation between Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick on the same track? Although Kyle Larson registered his sixth win of 2021 in the race, all people could talk about was the heated confrontation between Elliott and Harvick.

Elliott and Harvick traded paint on track and as a result of the consequences that ensued, the two were furious at each other. And the fuming confrontation between the two on the pit road was shared widely on social media. During the entire brawl, Harvick kept his helmet on. And fans slammed him for it. One of the YouTube users commented, “What a b!tch move by Harvick leaving his helmet on.” Whereas, another one said; “Best fight Harvick leaves helmet on so Chase won’t mess his face and Harvick takes off the helmet and breaks his glasses.”

A few others also joked about Harvick’s helmet. A user commented, “Harvick has two factors to protect him. He has a helmet on, and you wouldn’t hit a guy with glasses.” While another wrote, “Harvick knew better than to take his helmet off.”

“Zero Sense” – Fellow NASCAR Driver Slams Chase Elliott for Taking the Outside Line Against Kyle Larson

One of the YouTube users slammed Harvick by calling him a tough guy. The comment read; “Take the helmet off tough guy. I understand having your helmet on if the guy comes to you but if you are going to another driver to start shit leave your helmet behind.”

What exactly happened between Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick at Bristol?

For the first 129 laps of the race, Chase Elliott seemed to have it all together. He was leading the race until Kevin Harvick decided to overtake him. Trying to move ahead of Elliott’s #9 Chevrolet, Harvick made contact with Elliott. And the impact of the contact left Elliott’s tires cut and he lost three laps on the pit road.

Furious at Harvick’s actions, Elliott returned to the track to avenge his loss. Harvick was leading the race for straight 71 laps but Elliott raced hard and passed his #4 Ford. As soon as he took the lead, he continued to drive in the same line, ahead of Harvick, thus blocking his progress.

Around lap 497, Kyle Larson passed Harvick and registered a win. Angry about Elliott blocking his momentum, Harvick confronted Elliott on the pit road. The two had a heated verbal exchange and although much could not be heard in the videos, Harvick explained what he spoke to Elliott about.

In a post-race interview, Harvick said; “I just told him it was kind of a chicken-[expletive] move that he did there at the end. We’re racing for the freaking win at Bristol. We’re three wide in the middle, and he throws a temper tantrum. I was just trying to get the lead and racing hard.”
