Travis Pastrana Excited to ‘Pull the Old Helmet off the Wall’, Set to Make NASCAR Return

The celebrated action sports star, Travis Pastrana, has announced that he will be making his return to NASCAR. The 36-year-old star driver has agreed to compete in Saturday’s race at Kansas Speedway in the Gander RV and Outdoors Truck Series category for Niece Motorsports.

Travis Pastrana, a famous name in extreme sports, is no stranger to NASCAR. He has raced for the same team in the NASCAR Truck Series back in 2017.

Pastrana declared the same via a post on his Instagram account, adding that he is excited about ‘pulling the old helmet off the wall’.

Travis Pastrana looks forward to a comeback

A visibly excited Pastrana mentioned in the post that he received a call from Niece Motorsports Team Manager, Cody Efaw, for last-minute participation in Saturday’s race. The two have worked together in the past.

“I don’t know why (Efaw called). I wasn’t very good at turning left, but I’m going to pull the old NASCAR helmet off the wall,” Pastrana jokingly added.

Pastrana’s NASCAR comeback race will be the second race of the weekend, and he will compete in a spare truck. He will drive the No. 40 Niece Motorsports Chevrolet that Truck Series driver Ross Chastain will participate in on Friday.

The 11-time Gold medalist in the X Games, Pastrana, drove his last race in NASCAR in 2017 in the Truck Series.

His NASCAR career comprises 45 appearances in the Truck Series and Xfinity Series from 2012 to 2017. He was part of the Xfinity Series for the entirety of the 2013 season, where he had also scored a pole position finish.

He has registered four top-10 finishes and will be chasing his first win on Saturday.
