18-year-old Jake Garcia who had a spectacular rookie season with McAnally-Hilgemann Racing will not be returning back to the team despite being offered a full-time role. While the driver missed the season opener in Daytona due to age restrictions hampering his debut at the iconic track, Garcia has shone brightly with a career-high 4th place finish coming off of 25 race starts.

As of now, Garcia is 14th in the rankings as the playoff action heads to the mile-and-a-half track in Homestead Miami. Now that’s something special, considering the driver’s inexperience. However, his achievements don’t mean that Garcia isn’t going all out when it comes to furthering his career. The youngster recently shared his statement on social media with a simple tweet that read the following:

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my rookie season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with everyone at McAnally-Hilgemann Racing and the support of our partners at Quanta Services and Adaptive One,” Garcia said in a release. “We’ve had fast trucks, strong finishes, and have a lot of reasons to be proud of our effort.”

MHR and Garcia will split their ways in 2024 as the rookie has confirmed that he will look at other options after this season. In his statement, he added, “However, I will be pursuing a new opportunity in 2024 that I am excited to share in the near future. Until then, our No. 35 team is going to finish this season with 100% effort over the final two races and hope to get to victory lane.”

On the other hand, an enthusiast shared his desire to see the youngster in a competent team like Spire Motorsports

I hope Spire gets him and replaces Purdy. I have high hopes for Garcia and I thought that he had a chance to be a contender and win a race or two next year with Zane, Hocevar, and possibly Enfinger all not being in trucks”
