“Ugliest Racecar I’ve Seen in My Life” – Brad Keselowski Contradicts Chase Elliott as He Slams Dale Earnhardt-Richard Petty-Inspired Iconic NASCAR Paint-Scheme
Consider this package: Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt, and Jimmie Johnson—the three seven-timers on one car. Now add the approval of NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver, Chase Elliott, to this package. What do you get?
You get Brad Keselowski‘s to-your-face, blunt disapproval.
Because clearly, the Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing driver-owner isn’t a fan of the 2020 paint scheme for Jimmie Johnson, which wrapped his #48 Camaro in the Petty blue and the Earnhardt black.

Brad Keselowski stands out against Chase Elliott and others over iconic paint-scheme
In a recent video posted by NASCAR, where drivers like Chase Elliott, Ross Chastain, Brad Keselowski, Ryan Blaney, and others rated the throwback paint schemes from the past as per their preference. Everyone but two drivers had a similar opinion on Jimmie Johnson’s 2020 paint scheme.
Those two drivers were the RFK Racing duo of Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher.
“I don’t think this got enough credit, I think this was pretty cool,” Chase Elliott said about the seven-timer’s paint scheme while Ryan Blaney claimed, “It’s pretty gangster. Yeah, I mean, no one else can do that. No one else can combine those two schemes, because no one else is a seven-timer, he is the only guy to do it.”
“I like this one,” William Byron said while Ross Chastain said, “I get what they were going for.” Chastain added that he would rate the Petty Blue as P1 and the Earnhardt Black as P1. “Together? Meh,” the #1 driver claimed.
“Yeah, I didn’t like this one at all. I thought this might’ve been the ugliest racecar I’ve ever seen in my life,” Keselowski said while Buescher said, “It’s too mixed up.”
With the “throwback” race of the year on Sunday, there’s much excitement among the enthusiasts about the paint schemes the teams will showcase. Building up the enthusiasm are Chase Elliott and HMS, who recently showcased the livery for the #9 Chevy.

HMS recently announced that Elliott’s #9 Camaro will honor his father, Bill Elliott, with a paint scheme inspired by the Hall of Famer’s racecar from 2001 to 2003. The senior Elliott went to the victory lane four times in those colors.
Not only that, as per Hendrick Motorsports, the younger Elliott claimed “those years sparked his desire to pursue racing.”
