Trackhouse Racing and Ross Chastain have amongst them two of the most incredible success stories in NASCAR. In just a couple of years, the racing outfit and its driver have gone from being negligible minorities to championship-contending forces. Though Chastain is now out of the playoffs after his elimination at the Charlotte Roval, he still aims big along with his team for the coming races. Las Vegas is just around the corner, and Justin Marks’s driver would be willing to crash the dreams of those still in the championship run. For after all, he is the “wrecking ball” of NASCAR.

As the team flies to Vegas for the first race of the playoff’s third stage, the trio of team owner Justin Marks, #1 driver Ross Chastain, and #99 driver Daniel Suarez clearly means business.

Ross Chastain has fought his way to the top of NASCAR. After many seasons rolling around in the Truck Series, he could make his mark at the highest level only in 2022. To think that it wouldn’t have been possible if not for Trackhouse Racing signing him on. In his maiden season with the club, Chastain was a literal ball of fire on the racing track. Showing blistering talent throughout the season, he finished in the 2nd spot behind champion Joey Logano. Getting into 2023, expectations were that he would repeat the same if not better. Unfortunately, he finds himself outside the fray in the round of 8.

Regardless, it doesn’t look like he is ready to ease his foot off the gas. Talking to the in-house media team, the #1 Camaro driver said, “I can’t wait to drive on track at Las Vegas and push the limit of the car and slide the right rear tire and go across the bumps out of control and nail a qualifying lap and go for fifth in points and go for the win.” Chastain’s hunger for more success stems from the character that he shares with Justin Marks. Signing long-term contracts to remain with each other for the foreseeable future, the Marks-Chastain-Suarez trio at Trackhouse is a racing juggernaut in the making.

Every time Chastain takes the victory lane, he smashes a watermelon on the track. The celebration is an ode to the family business that helped him climb the ladder to fame and glory. Before reaching the gates of Las Vegas, the driver will take part in a watermelon convention in Florida. Though Chastain takes pride in being a regular old watermelon farmer, there is nothing simple about his growth or that of Trackhouse Racing.

In a matter of two years, Justin Marks has built his team from scratch. Stepping beyond borders, Marks also introduced his revolutionary Project91 program which turned out to be a massive success this year. Talking about how he had desperately wanted to bring Chastain onto the team back in 2021, Marks said, “This is a huge moment. My top three was when I got to call Ross on the phone and tell him he was the guy I want in the #1 car. This was 13 years in the making, but I have been a huge fan of Ross’s talent, as a human being and of his potential. He’s going to do incredible things for this company.”

Going into 2024, Trackhouse will not be just a two-car team. Marks purchased a 3rd charter earlier this year, using which Truck Series fame Zane Smith will take the wheel. As the owner continues expanding his dominance in NASCAR, his drivers Chastain and Suarez can be relied on to bring home the wins for now. The next step in their incredible journey will be at the Sin City!
