Recently, NASCAR on NBC posted a clip on its official Twitter account. In the video, NASCAR drivers answer which actor they would like to see portray their character in a movie. When Team Penske’s Austin Cindric was asked which actor he’d like to play his role on-screen, Cindric immediately answered  – Morgan Freeman! And fans could not stop themselves from reacting to Cindric’s no hesitation answer.

However, Cindric’s answer isn’t that far-fetched. Besides the obvious physical disparities, there is no reason why Morgan Freeman can’t star in a NASCAR movie. Like Cindric, Freeman too is a NASCAR enthusiast and has driven a Corvette at the Indy 500.

In a 2006 interview, Freeman talked about his love for NASCAR and how he had the most extraordinary time at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He said, “I’m not a car buff, but I love driving. And I love driving fast. My wife, bless her heart, recently gave me a three-day NASCAR weekend. I went to Lowe’s Motor Speedway [near] Charlotte and had the most extraordinary time.”

Moreover, Freeman shared that he loves to sit on his sofa, crank up the sound and watch the races with surround sound at his home. Apart from Cindric, a few other NASCAR drivers shared their answers in the clip.

Which actors did the other NASCAR drivers choose?

The video kickstarted with Ryan Blaney revealing his choice of an actor that he wished to portray his life on the screen. He said; “Let’s get Will Ferrell to come back as Ricky Bobby, be Ryan Blaney.” Whereas, Hendrick Motorsports Chase Elliott chose Jackie Chan.

Further, 23XI’s Kurt Busch explained that Matt Damon is his favorite actor and a dude who knows how to go international. And owing to this, he chose Damon to portray his role on screen. Moreover, claiming that Leonardo DiCaprio looks a lot like him, Front Row Motors Michael McDowell picked the ‘Titanic’ actor.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr chose Matthew McConaughey while Harrison Burton picked his name-twin, Harrison Ford. Cody Ware on the other hand was set on picking someone funny and decided to go with Jim Carrey. Team Penske’s Joey Logano did not choose anyone as he only watches kids’ shows these days. Whereas William Byron chose the one and only Tom Cruise.
