The 36-race-long season is a grind for every driver driving in the three top-tier NASCAR racing series. And with the final rumble at Phoenix all done and dusted, the drivers are finally able to take some time off for themselves and recharge for the upcoming season. Needless to say, it is no different for the team owners, as the pressure on the owners is nothing less than it is on their drivers.

Dale Earnhardt Jr‘s vacation started right from Phoenix weekend when he went off with the Dirty Mo Media crew and his wife Amy booked an Airbnb at the Wigwam to spend the weekend with his friends and family. Now, he is looking for ways to warm himself up as he sits on the balcony of his 300-acre property in North Carolina. And that started with an Instagram Q&A.

Who doesn’t like those warm, sunny mornings, smuggled onto one’s porch, with a cup of coffee? Well, Dale Earnhardt surely does. However, he couldn’t figure out how to get cozy during the offseason and hence took to Instagram, looking for a bit of help. He asked, “What is the best electric outdoor portable heater?” Obviously, he had expected the answers to be product-oriented. Instead, it looked like the fans had other things on their minds. And none of them even mentioned an outdoor heater.

While one said, “Move to Florida”, another said, “Use a burn barrel.” Someone added that the best way to warm oneself up is to sit under the sun and bask in the morning light. An array of diverse opinions left Dale Earnhardt Jr and Amy utterly confused. It is then that Amy’s ingenious idea comes to her husband’s rescue.

The next story found Dale Earnhardt Jr getting his own portable indoor heater and placing it next to his outdoor coffee table. Perhaps the couple felt like combining an indoor heater with the heat from the sun would help them stay warm. Needless to say, this entire spectacle is enough to amuse any grown man.

And now Dale Earnhardt Jr is trying his hands at cleaning up his own furniture. When a fan commented, “What is up today?”, he replied, “I think I’ll clean the garage floor up. The trash needs taken out. Right now we are playing with kinetic sand. 😂”

The quest for a title for JR Motorsports began 5 years ago, in 2018. However, all things considered, the 2023 season was better than the last year for JR Motorsports. In a recent episode of the Dale Jr Download, Junior said, “I saw Allgaier at the end of this race last year, walked up to him, and man, we were both heartbroken. Let’s not do that again; we’re gonna win this year. We’re not gonna be standing here on pit road trying not to cry.”

With Sam Mayer qualifying for the Championship 4 in his very first Xfinity season and Justin Allgaier putting up strong contention in the championship race, Dale Earnhardt Jr might not have too many reasons to sulk.

Junior reflected on a post-Phoenix moment and told his co-host Mike Davis, “I walked up to Allgaier and said, man, I’ll tell you, I don’t feel as heartbroken as I did last year, and he goes, yeah, I don’t either.”

“I feel like we put up a good fight for it, we weren’t good enough. Looking ahead to 2024, we’ve got a lot to be excited about. We’re going to try to make some changes, trying to improve a couple of cars,” he added.

One take at a time

It is the unpredictability of the sport that probably intrigues me the most. There was a time when I knew very little about NASCAR. But after I watched the 2011 Ford 400 where Tony Stewart defeated Carl Edwards in a tie-breaker, there has been no going back for me.
