VIDEO: The Moment That Triggered Hendrick Star Alex Bowman to Take a Dig at Corey LaJoie on Social Media

Let’s just pretend for five seconds in the name of mystery that the reason for the feud between Alex Bowman and Corey LaJoie is unknown. Okay, five seconds are up.

And the reason is quite obvious.

LaJoie, albeit unintentionally, wrecked the Hendrick Motorsports driver recklessly. And as he did so, there were some honest and sarcastic radio messages that followed.

“#7 just completely f****d us,” said Kevin Hamlin, the spotter of Bowman, followed by the #48 driver displaying his wit as he said, “Corey LaJoie is a really good racecar driver.”

However, LaJoie didn’t want any beef, not at that moment at least. He simply apologized on his radio.

“Ah, tell him, I’m sorry. I did not mean to do that,” he said.

But then, after the race, LaJoie stirred the pot, possibly because of Bowman’s cheeky dig.

The Spire Motorsports driver suggested that Bowman gets another one of those t-shirts made, something that’s kind of become his thing whether he likes it or not.

And to that, the Hendrick driver replied, “Man i could even make a “so sorry” shirt to match from your text.”

In a recent interview, Alex Bowman candidly assessed his season so far.

The Hendrick Motorsports driver admitted that while he hasn’t had the best of the seasons so far, something quite far from what he displayed last season, the #48 team is better than what shows on paper right now.

“Gateway wasn’t great for us, wasn’t great for HMS as a whole,” Bowman said. “Sonoma we were OK and then got crashed there on that last restart. We should have never finished 16th; we should have been way better than that.”

In Bowman’s mind, they are in “an OK spot” currently. He believes his team has been more consistent than normal this season so far. But there’s still one thing that he wishes he had more of, something they’re ready to work on more.

“I wish we had a little more raw speed than we’ve had, but just kind of keep working on it,” he added.
