At the Phoenix Raceway, Austin Cindric stormed to a second Xfinity Series victory. Of course, he fought extremely hard for it, as several of his rivals hounded him all the way. Cindric had to hold off Ty Gibbs, Justin Allgaier, Daniel Hemric, Justin Haley and many more.

Allgaier tried to sneak around the outside, but Cindric fended him off. Meanwhile, Haley slid into the wall and wrecked his chances of winning, along with Hemric. By the next turn, Allgaier was the next one in the wall, leaving Austin Cindric on his own. However, Ty Gibbs had managed to slot into second place and began hunting down the Penske driver.

All this took place with just two laps to go, and Gibbs began the chase. With the white flag waving, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver inched even closer, and was right on Cindric’s tail in the final corner. Then, Austin Cindric went a little wide and Ty Gibbs closed right up behind him, but the former held firm.

With this triumph, the Penske driver has become the first person to grab a second win in the 2021 season. This only goes further to cement his status as one of the favorites for the Xfinity Series title. Meanwhile, Ty Gibbs was absolutely delighted to have such a strong finish in just his second race start.

After a debut win at the Daytona Road Course, Gibbs has followed it up with the 2nd-place finish at Phoenix. Needless to say, if Gibbs continues to bang in impressive performances, he will definitely be guaranteed a full-time drive.

On the other end of the scale, every other Xfinity Series driver needs to buck up and try to catch Austin Cindric. Otherwise the 22-year-old will simply run away into the distance and successfully defend his crown.
