Drivers like Denny Hamlin, Chase Elliott, Bubba Wallace, and Kevin Harvick have had some rough incidents with the Trackhouse Racing driver in the current 2022 season. Starting off with the Gateway race, where Chastain drove Denny Hamlin into a wall, the #1 Chevrolet Camaro driver also had an on-track tussle with Ryan Blaney at Richmond.

Moreover, during the Gateway race, Chastain’s second wreck slowed down almost half of the field. With new drivers constantly being added to Chastain’s enemy list each week, it is obvious that many NASCAR drivers are waiting for an opportunity to get back at him.

And the latest episode of ‘NASCAR Next Now: Class Reunion’ featuring Kyle Larson, Cory LaJoie, Bubba Wallace, Daniel Suarez, Ryan Blaney and Brandon McReynolds revealed what all the drivers think of Chastain’s actions. At one point in the episode, 23 XI Racing’s Bubba Wallace couldn’t stop himself from pulling Chastain’s spotter, Brandon McReynolds’ leg.

During the conversation, Fox Sport’s interviewer, Kayla Vinci asked McReynolds if there was a particular moment in this season that stood out for him. Unsure what to say, McReynolds took a pause to think about it. While Bubba Wallace took a sip of his drink and casually answered on Brandon’s behalf; “Wrecking half the field (shrugs).”

Wallace’s witty response sent all the other drivers into a burst of laughter. It is clear that Wallace’s response was a result of Ross Chastain’s tendency to constantly run into his fellow drivers’ cars and cause wrecks on track. However, taking the joke in stride, an embarrassed McReynolds smiled and added; “I paused because I knew something was going to be said.

But was Bubba Wallace correct in assessing Brandon McReynold’s answer?

Of course not! Brandon McReynolds felt that the moment that stood out for him in the 2022 Cup Series was getting the checkered flag. Winning at the Charlotte Motor Speedway was a special moment for Chastain, McReynolds and Trackhouse in general.

However, McReynold’s answer did not impress the drivers who were still rolling over Wallace’s witty remark. Continuing to pull Brandon’s leg, Ryan Blaney and Daniel Suarez joked that McReynolds on Chastain’s radio must sound like; “Oh yeah! Another one’s coming. Clear! Contact!”

Although McReynolds did seem a bit embarrassed, he smiled and went on to finish his answer. he said; “Other than the handful wins that Trackhouse has gotten… it was the coolest thing seeing my dad crew chief for Jeff Earnhardt down at Talladega. To see him in the garage area sitting down there. Talking with Jeffrey, I had like a flashback of when I was a kid like watching him and Dale interact.”
