When the NASCAR Xfinity race at Bristol concluded, Chase Briscoe indulged in a heart-warming gesture. Traditionally, race-winning drivers get a chance to take the checkered flag home. However, Briscoe chose to hand the flag to a young fan at the track.

He has clearly followed in the footsteps of Kevin Harvick, who did the same thing at Darlington. Needless to say, Harvick gained a lifelong fan, and his off-track reputation sky-rocketed. Now, Briscoe has also elected to play the Good Samaritan and made another child’s day.

How did Chase Briscoe win the race?

Briscoe inherited the lead with just a handful of laps left in the race. Once he nabbed it, he let go only after he crossed the checkered flag at the Bristol Motor Speedway. It is worth noting that the Bristol race heralded the conclusion of the NASCAR Xfinity Series regular season.

In order to triumph at the Bristol Motor Speedway, Chase Briscoe managed to barge his way past race leader Austin Cindric. Since then, he never looked back and went unchallenged until the checkered flag.

As it turns out, this latest victory is also his series-leading 7th of the season. Justin Allgaier won the first two stages, but when it counted the most, Briscoe pulled through to emerge as the fastest.

I was so mad after last week (at Richmond),” Briscoe told NBCSN. “I told all the guys there ain’t no way we’re getting beat today. I was so mad after how we ran last week and I get on the internet all the time and see guys count us out after one bad race and I know what this team is capable.

“I finished second here the last two races and I wanted to win here so bad and it’s awesome that I can actually celebrate it with all these race fans.”
