Todd Bodine has enjoyed a long and successful career, which includes two Truck Series titles. Currently, Bodine is making his 800th career start across all three NASCAR series, which is a huge number. However, back in a 1999 Xfinity Series race, he got on the bad side of Dale Earnhardt Jr.

During the NAPA Autocare 250 at the Pikes Peak Raceway, the two of them tangled and Dale Jr came off worse.

Speaking afterward, he said, “Yeah I’m fine. We’re real tight there on that last set and I was trying to give everybody the room and I wanted to race them. I didn’t know whether I’d have a chance to win or not, I didn’t want to give that up. Nobody else had any trouble getting by me. Cueball headed fool can’t get by without wrecking.”

Why was Dale Earnhardt Jr so angry with Todd Bodine?

Dale Jr was fuming because he could have been injured in the accident. This was because he had been injured earlier in the year. Just as he clambered out of the wreck, it appeared that he was quite hurt.

Commentators noticed that when he got out of the car, it looked like he was favoring one side of his body. Earlier that year in Milwaukee, he broke his scapula, so he must have been worried about getting another injury.

Since then, Todd Bodine would like to believe that he has grown and matured as a driver.

His 2006 and 2010 Truck Series titles are proof that he has improved a lot, and the same goes for his 15 Xfinity and 22 Truck wins. Now, Bodine is competing in this weekend’s Truck race at the Pocono Raceway, but will start all the way down in 34th place.

Honestly speaking, it is nothing to write home about, but as long as he avoids wrecks and finishes the race, he should be fine.
