Yesterday, Joey Logano got into an accident while trying to pull a move. He banged the sidewall and lost control. After that, he took Di Benedetto with him. Both drivers suffered heavy damages.

Additionally, Denny Hamlin is now the NASCAR Cup Series race win leader. He hustled to his fifth NASCAR Cup Series triumph of the season on Thursday night.

He was seen passing the favorite Kevin Harvick in the last laps and was able to hold off Brad Keselowski. Keselowski completed second and Martin Truex Jr. rounded up the Top-3.

“We’ve had garbage luck,” DiBenedetto after crash with Joey Logano

Joey Logano drove promptly. However, his race went haywire after a promising start. He took some season finisher competitors with him. His issues started when a tire got free on pit street during the 1st stage.

This impact was enough to send him to the back of the field. However, he was trying his best to come back strong in the last stage when his left front tire went down, sending Logano into the outside divider.

Matt DiBenedetto and Jimmie Johnson, the final two drivers who were on the cusp of the playoff bubble, suffered a major collision. So did Austin Dillon. He was the unexpected victor a weekend ago at Texas.

“I’m pretty freaking irritated. We’ve had garbage luck the last few weeks,” DiBenedetto said. “We have no horsepower. It takes us 45 minutes to get going. The restarts are just wild. But that’s what is happening.”

Jimmie Johnson, who entered Thursday’s race at Kansas Speedway holding what might have been the last spot on the playoffs list, was among those gathered in an accident on a restart with 92 laps left. He didn’t complete the race.

The outcome leaves Johnson without a playoff seat with seven races left. William Byron, as of now, holds what might be the last playoffs spot. Tyler Reddick is behind Byron by 10 points. Erik Jones by 12 points and Johnson by 18 points.
