To make matters worse, the multi-car pile-up took out a few Playoff drivers and dampened their hopes of securing a place in the Championship 4.

The entire ordeal was triggered when Allgaier’s rear got a little squirrelly and he bumped into Chastain. This cost both cars a lot of momentum and they found themselves in a 4-wide scrap.

Obviously, this is NASCAR, and 4-wide moves generally do not end well for most parties. Then, things took a turn for the worse when Allgaier and Chastain collided.

Unfortunately, Brandon Jones was caught in the crossfire and was sent into the wall. There were more drivers involved, like Jeremy Clements, but the primary losers were Allgaier, Chastain, and Jones.

Allgaier was furious with Chastain in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race

All three drivers dove into the pits for repairs, with Chastain emerging first. Unfortunately, Allgaier’s damage was so great that he had to go back to the garage.

Suffice to say, Allgaier was hopping mad as his chances of making it into the Championship 4, took a massive hit.

He fumed, “When (Chastain) got to my quarter panel, we got loose. Then right here, he just decided to hang a left because he’s aggravated and wrecks the whole field.

“It’s a shame not only for our team but everybody else. Ross is pretty two-faced and says a lot of things outside the race car and drives like this on the racetrack a lot of the times. It’s pretty disappointing.”

At least Chastain was man enough to own up to his mistake. He insisted that his car was fully capable of winning the race. Sadly, driver error from his end put his chances to rest and he could only wonder what could have been. According to Chastain, he made far too many mistakes, and it cost him dearly.
