WATCH: Kyle Larson Pulls Off a Daring Double Overtake at Chili Bowl

Kyle Larson is undoubtedly a fantastic NASCAR driver. However, he is unparalleled in the dirt arena, and he proved it at the Chili Bowl Nationals. During his heat race, the Asian-American driver pulled off an insane double overtake.

At a point in the heat, he was fourth on the track. Heading into one of the turns, he practically threaded the needle by weaving in between two cars. The bad news was that he was too far behind the race leader and eventually finished 2nd. In the end, Buddy Kofoid won the race ahead of Larson; as a result, both drivers have advanced to the main event.

While it may have been disappointing to see Larson lose the race, fans can be glad that he is still in the competition. This way, we can still witness more exquisite passes like the one in the heat race. Without a doubt, this is a brilliant way for him to sharpen his skills ahead of the 2022 Cup Series season.

Kyle Larson will be aiming to defend his 2021 crown

While Larson and a handful of drivers are in Oklahoma for the Chili Bowl Nationals, the rest are at Daytona for testing. Everyone knows that this season is important because of the new cars. For the #5 Hendrick Motorsports driver, in particular, he has a massive target on his back. In other words, he will be under a lot of pressure to retain his title and take consecutive wins.

Naturally, the road to that second title will be wrought with obstacles. Chief among them are his teammates, Chase Elliott, William Byron, and Alex Bowman. Then there are other teams like Joe Gibbs Racing, Team Penske, Stewart-Haas Racing, and many more. Admittedly, the driver has been in excellent form this year. The Chili Bowl only proves that he is getting better and better.
