Things are really going in favor of Kyle Larson. After the disappointing P2 at Dover, he had his #5 Chevy again in the final stages. However, things unfolded differently in Kansas. This time, going with the 31-year-old Cup Series table topper from HMS. Larson bagged the checkered flag at the last race in Kansas by the closest of margins. Unlucky for Team Ford as Chris Buescher came this close to clinching their season’s inaugural victory. Even after the race, people were mixed up about who finished first. It was the slo-mo footage that decided the winner. Like his fans, Larson’s wife was excited and pumped up during the exhilarating clash. How did she react in the final moments of the race?

Kyle Larson’s wife showcased a fan-like reaction to the race-winning moment

While there were tensions in the crowd as well as on the track, the same crept into the drivers’ household. In a video posted by Kyle Larson on X, his wife Katelyn’s restless behavior was brought up. Well, how else would you react to a 0.001-second margin? He captioned the video, saying, @mrs_klarson was jacked up!” with a laughing emoji. In the video, Mrs Larson was seen jumping with excitement when the decision came out of the #5’s victory. “I think it’s us. It’s us! Yeahhhhh!” she screamed. Kyle Larson executed an outside pass on Chris Buescher through Turns 3 and 4. In response, Buescher attempted to decelerate Larson by squeezing him toward the wall. This led to a side-by-side drag race off the turn, with both drivers making contact and banging doors. They raced down the track towards the apron, ultimately crossing the finish line. It wouldn’t be surprising if this is hailed as one of the greatest races ever in the history of NASCAR.

After the race, Kyle Larson termed the race as ‘crazy’, and spoke about the battle with Buescher in the crucial turns. He said, “It worked out, my car turned well, and I got some runs. I got through really good down the backstretch and had a big tow on Chris and got him to kind of enter shallow. And I just committed really hard up top. I wasn’t quite sure if we were going to make it out the other side. I got super loose in the center, and then I’m trying not to get too far ahead of him to where he can side draft. And then I was just trying to kill his run. It was just crazy.”

As expected, Kyle Larson remains at the top of the standings, with a mammoth 633 laps led. This is the highest number of laps led this season, with Denny Hamlin‘s 606 coming second. The Cup Series moves to the track of Darlington after witnessing the insane Kansas finish. Kyle Larson has the opportunity to strengthen his position further into the playoffs. With the current form, he has a genuine chance to clinch the championship this season.

What are your thoughts regarding this? Can Larson bag his second championship win at Phoenix later this year?
