WATCH: NASCAR Driver Sheldon Creed Ambushes the Track to Flip the Bird at Jade Buford

Earlier at the Portland International Raceway, AJ Allmendinger won the Xfinity Series race. However, there was a fair bit of action behind him, involving Sheldon Creed and Jade Buford. During the course of the race, Creed got bumped by several drivers, and one of them was Buford. Owing to that, he stormed onto the track while the caution was on, and flipped the bird at the #48 driver.

In the end, he was classified in 32nd and out of the race. The rookie driver has been pretty impressive, with a handful of Top 10 finishes to his credit.

Unfortunately, the pinball race at the Portland International Raceway was a bit of a blip in his 2022 career. So far, his best finish is 6th place at the Daytona International Speedway. Luckily for him, there is plenty of time to redeem himself.

Sheldon Creed almost did not compete in the race

Truthfully speaking, this was a difficult race weekend for Creed as his participation was not guaranteed. This was because he and his wife are expecting a child very soon. The 24-year-old took part in practice and placed pretty high. However, with his first child’s impending arrival, his team roped in Kaz Grala to be on standby, just in case.

Initially, Grala was expected to compete in the Truck race at the World Wide Technology Raceway. However, the Richard Childress Racing team elected to call him up. Ultimately, it was a bit of a wasted trip, as Sheldon Creed was able to take part in qualifying and the race.

Admittedly, the race was not easy, as it had rained ahead of the all-important outing. So many of the drivers were driving quite gingerly. Despite this, there were still so many wrecks at the first corner during the restarts.
