At the NASCAR Xfinity race in Las Vegas, Ross Chastain had a wild moment on the track. While exiting the corner, his car got caught sideways on the track and the rear end was inches away from the wall.
The good news was that Chastain lived to fight in the race, but he dropped down the order. In the end, he finished in 16th place, thus denting his playoff hopes. Since he is stranded in 9th in the standings, a 16th place finish puts him in an extraordinarily vulnerable position.

Meanwhile, Chase Briscoe won the race over Noah Gragson and Daniel Hemric. Rounding out the Top-5 were Justin Allgaier and Ryan Sieg. Finally, Austin Cindric, Michael Annett, Anthony Alfredo, Harrison Burton, and Justin Haley completed the Top-10.

What next for Ross Chastain?
It is worth noting that this poor race puts Chastain two points behind Burton. To make matters worse, Burton currently occupies the final transfer spot to enter the next round of the Playoffs.
Additionally, Michael Annett is 10 points behind Burton, with Riley Herbst 4 points away and Brandon Brown another 6 points.
Truthfully, this does not reflect well on Ross Chastain. This is because he recently penned a deal with Chip Ganassi Racing and is taking over the No. 42 car from Matt Kenseth.

It isn’t the first time that Ross Chastain has acquainted himself with Chip Ganassi Racing. He took part in three Xfinity Series races in the 2018 season.
Interestingly, he was supposed to race full time with CGR in 2019, however, the deal fell through. Chastain currently boasts of two race wins in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and three wins in the NASCAR Truck Series.
The #10 driver has participated in the Daytona 500, where he finished 25th. He also raced in the CocaCola 600 race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, where he finished 21st.
Chastain is yet to register a race win in 2020. However, he will be determined to try his hardest to get the monkey off his back and grab that elusive win. Of course, that feat will not be easy, with several rivals also keen to grab wins of their own.
