Without a doubt, the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season was tremendously exciting. To ring in the new year and the 2021 season, the sport compiled a montage of the last lap of every race this season. To make things even more spectacular, all of these final laps played out simultaneously.
In a way, it was an incredible feat, though it did create a massive cacophony. This season was truly spectacular, and Chase Elliott came through it all to emerge victorious in the end.

What lies ahead for the NASCAR Cup Series drivers?
The 2021 season is the final year with the current car model. From 2022 onwards, the sport is switching to a Next Gen car, which has been undergoing various tests. It is also worth mentioning that the upcoming 2021 calendar has changed a lot, with new additions.

This includes the likes of the Bristol dirt track and the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. The new season is expected to kick off in February with the annual Daytona 5oo. It is also worth mentioning that the status quo has been reset, but Chase Elliott will have a massive target on his back.

Add to that a slew of talented drivers like Kyle Larson, Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin; throw in a few new recruits, namely the Xfinity graduates, and one thing is for sure, the 2021 Cup Series season will be just as exciting as its predecessor.
Sadly, this season was also the last time any NASCAR fan saw Matt Kenseth, Clint Bowyer, and Jimmie Johnson in action. This is because the three drivers have officially hung up their boots for good.
