Clint Bowyer has been one of the silent performers during the first round of the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. He clinched Top-10 finishes in each of the three races in the Round of 16. He held the final transfer spot to the next round going into the elimination race at Bristol and made it through with a sixth-place finish.
Not so silent off the track, a confident Clint Bowyer now fancies his chances even further in the Round of 12. The three races in the next round are at Las Vegas, Talladega, and The Roval in Charlotte.
“I like it. I’m ready. Talladega is a crapshoot. Roval is a lot of fun. But again, things can happen,” Bowyer said after the race on Saturday.

“These are some of my best finishes coming at these tracks right here. Vegas has been an up‑and‑down track for me to say the least, but I’m really looking forward to Talladega, believe it or not, and obviously the Roval,” he added.

Before the playoffs, Bowyer had just two Top-10 finishes in 11 races. So the Playoffs run comes just at the right time for Bowyer, who believes being a “Steady Eddie” has helped him over the years. He believes the team is progressing in the right direction.
“I just feel comfortable we’re getting back to our consistency. I guess for a long time in my career I was kind of steady Eddie. And that’s what it takes in these playoffs, to go the rounds, you can’t make mistakes. I said that going into these playoffs,” Bowyer said.

Clint Bowyer confident ahead of Round of 12
The 41-year-old feels it is now time for him and the team to live up to their capabilities. “If we can do that and race to our capabilities and not make the mistakes we were making through the summer months, we can contend and move forward rounds in this playoff system, and that’s what we’re doing,” he added.
The Stewart-Haas Racing driver will start the next round in 11th place. He is tied on points with Kyle Busch for the round. In his 15th full season in NASCAR Cup Series, it will be interesting to see if the veteran driver makes some serious headway towards the business end of the Playoffs.
